Hop-up Buckings

Postby Falcon7 » Sun Nov 07, 2010 9:23 am

I got a concave nub/spacer for my hop up unit. I was looking at pictures of them in action and how they curve the bucking to stabilize spin and whatnot. But when I look at my bucking it has a small protrusion that enters the barrel to touch the bb, instead of just being flat.

It looks something like this:
-\____/--------\

-----------------/
Instead of this:
-----------------\

-----------------/

Is that normal? Is the protrusion thing going to be too difficult to bend and negate the advantages of the concave nub? I'm thinking it might be intended to get stronger spin on the bb, but I've never handled any buckings besides my own.

yes. alot of buckings are coming with a nub built in. It helps with the effect of backspin and acts like a h nub.

So I should get a different bucking that does not have that if I want to use the concave spacer properly?

yes. because adding a h-nub to a bucking that already has one built in does nothing to help the hopup more but what it can do is cause jamming.

Yeah the intrusion of it into the barrel is normal but like Riddick said, adding an H nub to one that has it does no good.

I'm looking for a good bucking with no built in nub to buy now. If it does have the built in nub, will the website generally specify that? Anybody want to recommend a bucking (metal m4 type hop up unit, concave spacer, 400fps)?

We want 'em to know if they're gonna leave a bomb on the side of the road, first, we're just gonna blow up their little f**kin road.

For Buckings, I like the MadBull Blue bucking.
