m249 lower ras question

Postby anubis » Sun Dec 26, 2010 10:17 am

so i currently have a m249 para and wish to get a lower ras unit for it. ive found that rather than using a standard mini 9.6v is i use a nunchuck 9.6 the battery will fit in the reciver forward of the handguard. but being i havent really been able to check the size and shape of the ras unit im not sure if i can squeeze one of those batterys in to it. has anyone managed to fit a battery in any way shape or form into a m249 ras

I have he same M249P set up with lower RAS. A battery will not fit. What I did was buy a 9.6 4200 and a TT P90 Single mag pouch. TT modified it for me for free to hold the battery snug. Then I used some zip ties to mount the pouch and battery on the side of the RAS. Doesn't look real world, but it still looks cool and functions better than anything else I found. My ROF and battery life is great with the 4200 9.6. Haven't had to change out the battery during a game yet and I lay down a lot of rounds.
