Teflon mod on AEG

Postby God » Sun Jan 23, 2011 2:49 pm

Hi, I keep reading about the teflon mod, but I can't find a guide on DOING so. At least not for an AEG... And I can not Youtube and yes I have used Google...

Same question as above for a WE 1911...

In short a telfon mod for an AEG is applying telfon tape to the cylinder head or hop-up bucking to save the air seal.

I try to reframe from doing it, as it's kind of tricky to get right and the telfon on the cylinder head gets all over the place after a few hunderd shots. A more feasible solution would be to try a tighter fitting cylinder head and Hop-up bucking.

I wouldn't bother, except for wrapping it around the barrel to stabilize it.

Better off getting the correct size o-ring for the cylinder head.

Wraping an AEG hop up is difficult in that you slide the barrel into the hop up unit. This can screw it all up. However, if you wrap it just enough, you can still get a good seal and slip it into the unit. Try it. You won't hurt the gun any...

Yeah plumbers tape. I use it on most of m Cylinder heads just to get that extra 5 Fps or 30fps depending on how bad it is.
