I have no experience with Echo 1's EBR, however I have owned a CA M14 EBR.

EBR's by their nature are beasts. The stock is cool looking, but if you aren't paying attention in the heat of the moment, you will mash the shit outta your finger every time you adjust it!

They are front heavy. And, if you are trying to be the least sneaky, EBR's are prickly...meaning they get caught on stuff. Did I mention they are front heavy?

We traded our EBR for an CA M4 with an M16 length TB inner barrel, and a well dialed scope. A silencer and a badass paint job and it's a nice little DMR. And it shoots further and more accurately than the EBR did.

We currently own an G&G M14 wood stock. Great rifle, good range, durable, good accuracy. If you want an M14, this is a good choice.

That all said, I have heard some good things about the Echo 1 EBR. I owned an Echo 1 SOCOM M14 and loved it. In the end it's really all about what you like, and what you are willing to lug around. 8)

I've owned one and ran with it for about 6 months before ditching it.

It's heavy and unbalanced.

External design is very weak. If you fall on the stock, it will snap off - personal experience. It is only held on by two small potmetal tabs and two little screws. You have to cement it in place.

Other than that, it's just a really really cumbersome M14 with rails. I do not recommend them in the least, but if you just can't live without "that look," then go for it, it's your money.

As to your original questions:
It takes TM compatible mags
It will last as long as any older Echo 1 model. Echo 1 hasn't really updated their M14 line for a while so expect standard ACM internals and performance. ~370FPS, 15 RPS, terrible compression, usable but not amazing.
For every action (Bang) there is an equal and opposite reaction (HIT!)

This was just discussed last month. You should use the search feature.
