question about springs

Postby 11teitzel » Sun Jan 30, 2011 10:47 pm

I read the "which upgrades should i get sticky" and it said that anything past a 120 spring can potentially damage your gun. But i want my gun to shoot harder, i plan on sniping, so what can i do to strengthen my internals so a new spring wont hurt them.

Are you going to be sniping with a spring sniper rifle?

Then a new spring guide, motor, battery, and gears.

Not helpful....

What is your target FPS range? What brand AEG do you currently have? What upgrades (if any) are already installed? What's your budget?

The piston should be fine. I have had 5 Dboys an none of them have blown a piston or gear set.

I would suggest a high speed motor, unless you plan on going over the 430 mark. If you can take the gun apart yourself, then buy a spring, buy a Tight bore barrel, and a Bucking. Then see how long you can go.

First, you probably won't be able to use that at any NW games following AP rules.

Second, if you do intend to upgrade to that point, then this is what you're looking for:

Polycarb piston - Modify is great.
Make sure that the O-ring on the piston head gives good compression.
Bearing spring guide - Any brand works usually, just make sure it has bearings and it's for a V2.
O-ring Air-nozzle
Metal cylinder head - double O-ring is ideal.
A new wire-set. You don't need a completely new wire harness, just get some 16AWG put. That will be able to handle the extra voltage needed to cycle the spring.
9.6v battery at minimum. 11.1 Lipo or 10.8 Nimh will also do the trick.
For every action (Bang) there is an equal and opposite reaction (HIT!)
