M4 Barrel Length

Postby Bic 101 » Fri Feb 18, 2011 1:34 am

So I am upgrading the barrel of my KWA M4 to a 6.01 and I am wondering about barrel length. I have a suppressor so I can get up to about a 509mm but will that be a significant increase in accuracy and distance over a 397?

Also, what type of hop-up unit does KWA use? I'd like to get a second one so I don't have to constantly switch them if I wanted a regular length M4.

Cheers and thanks.

KWA uses a 2 piece hop up. So if you want to be able to switch between barrel/HUs then you'll need to find the top half of a 2 piece HU. I don't know whether E1's is compatible, probably is.
You'll notice a difference between an m4 length barrel and a m16. It isn't huge, but theres a difference.

E1/TM unit's aren't for some reason. You'd need a KWA. And its not really worth it to go with a 509mm.

So, having never played indoors because I live in Eugene, how hard is it to maneuver a M16 length gun around in CQC? I do know that it all depends on the person and the set up, but humor me please.

At Tacoma Tactical I had trouble with a full length M4. But that's pretty close up. An M16 is definitely on the long side though...
