People who haven't even been alive for as long as Tokyo Marui has been in business should stop replying in this thread. Like I already said, upgrading to metal bushings and tossing a hotter spring into a TM was the normal thing to do before all these clones came out. You could reliably shoot 330-350 fps. Yes, of course it effects the lifespan of your gun, but ANY upgrade effects the lifespan of ANY gun... Regardless of make or model.

I personally owned and used upgraded Tokyo Marui AK47s, M4s, M16s at velocities up to 400 fps and they were all just as reliable as the clones that shoot 400 out of the box today.

Hell that is all I still do when I upgrade a TM. The gears and piston from TM are awesome and will handle a lot of abuse. If you switch to metal bushings and shim it right it will last a long time at 350. Not much else is needed in a TM gun to upgrade it...

So if I were to upgrade it I should just add new bushings? The ones that are in it now are 6mm plastic bushings. I have some extra 6mm ball bearing bushings, should I use those to save money or just put standard metal ones in there for an extra $15?
