My gun/body size ratio is off... (Question about the SAW)

Well, I've got a question for those of you with experience of OWNING a SAW. I've been torn in the decision of a good SAW to get that has essentially everything I need with as solid of a build and as little requirements of internal maintainance as possible. I'd like you guys to give me some suggestions, preferrably from experience, as to what is a good option. For this, weight is not at all a factor in this and price is not very much of one, either, but $750 is the roof. Thanks.
Please, I insist.

Find a used G&P or CA. There's a CA M249 MKII with a real Savit stock for sale for $350 used right now on another forum. I've owned several A&K's, an Echo1 (same thing), a TOP with a PGC gearbox, a G&P, a Star MK46, TOP M60, and I've had a lot of experience with CA's, and I gotta say G&P is really worth the extra price. A CA should be cheaper in the end though, and are still good. Just stay far away from A&K's....

i always preferred the CA over the G&P because of the gearbox. the CA has that big a$$ block of metal, whereas the G&P uses a regular AEG gearbox. the CA always seemed like it would be a lot sturdier, and the quick spring changes make changing velocity easy, as well as removing the tension in the box for easy maintenance.

no first hand exp with G&P SAWs, but ive owned a couple of CAs, as well as an A&K. the A&K was garbage. its only good as a wallhanger. i also have a STAR Mk43 (the M60, not the 249) and ive handled plenty of their SAWs. the difference in quality between their M60s and M249s is dramatic. the MK43 is one of my favorite guns.

I don't have first hand experience with the G&P as either but have heard good things about them. I do own a Classic Army SAW (Mk46), and the gun has proved really reliable with no problems at all. I've had it for about 6 months now with heavy use, it's probably the most reliable gun I've come to own.

My opinion, get the Classic Army and you won't be disappointed. The way the gearbox is designed is for it to handle sustained use on full-auto. In other words, as long as you do your cleaning maintainance and keep the spring decompressed after use, she'll last for a very long time.

Well, sounds like CA really is the best bet. Thanks, guys.
