Why are you wanting to replace your gearbox shell?

The G&G combat machine shells are not that great. The one I had cracked at the front with the stock m100 spring

Well what i would do is use your stock shell until it cracks, then replace it. The gearbox shell does not improve your performance whatsoever in an AEG.

If you want new V2 shells, I'll sell you 1 complete and 1 shell for $10-$15 a piece. One Echo1 and one DBoys. All GB's break eventually, especially if you torture it with high spring tension and a lot of rounds. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Yes, they may be a bit better when it comes to how long they will last, but why wouldnt you just use your regular gearbox until it breaks THEN buy a new one.

Only replace the shell when you absolutely have to. Every time you open the gearbox, you risk screwing it up. Shoot it till you break it, than fix it.

If you don't already have a 7mm or bigger gearbox shell with ball bearings, replacing the gearbox will increase the ROF and efficiency of the AEG.

IIRC, G&G combat machine nbb gearboxes have 8mm brass bushings. If the gearbox is not cracked I would replace the 8mm brass bushings with 8mm ball bearings.

The Modify gearbox shells are ok, although they do not fit in VFC 416s without modification.

I got a new CA gearbox shell. Are the bushings supposed to be really hard to put in? With this one you have to force them, with my stock one they just pop right in. Idk what's normal =P I couldn't even get some of them in....

I would use a small file and file the holes of the Gearbox shell where the bushings should go in. They should fit in firmly, not really tight.
