Help. Gearbox keeps jamming!

Postby binicb2r » Sun Apr 10, 2011 2:28 pm

After rebuilding the gearbox (v3 jg g36c ) for the n^? time it's still jamming when the piston is fully back just before the gear releases it. It's all stock stuff except the piston that was replaced a while back. The gears spin very freely and it's been cleaned out and re greased and lubed.

I'm running my stock 8.4 but I would cycle with my 2cell lipo that I do not run in the gun, it's got a 100amp cont discharge.

Any ideas?

This happened to a friend of mine's m16. He took it in to get repaired at AirsoftOutletnw. They fixed it for about $30

it's probably the battery, if by "stock" you mean it came with your gun, it's a POS. Get a better battery, or borrow a friend's to test it out.

If its cycling with the 2cell (7.4v battery, LIPO) then that means you 8.4v is a POS.

buy a lipo for it.

Or a good quality 9.6v NIMH. I had to go back to NIMH because my lipo cycles to fast for the tappet plate to load properly...

I guess just saying it cycles on a 2s lipo isn't fair. My 2s is a 5000mAh 20c. It'll probably cycle anything short of a car.

It is the pos battery that came with the gun, then again, that's all we run around here. I guess I could have just died between the last game and now.

I'm going to try to scroung up a different battery until I can get a relatively sane lipo small enough for my gun.

Dumb question: how do you put a shim in the wrong place?

How do you put a shim in the wrong place as many times as you've ripped the gearbox apart?

When your putting the gearbox shells together, the gears don't always line up with the bushings and sometimes takes some poking around with a small screw driver or dental pick in order to get the gears where thet should be. All this moving around can knock a shim off the top of a gear, land on the teeth and next thing you know it's jamming the gearbox.
There's a difference between a person who has a screwdriver and a person who knows what they are doing.
