Quality M8 airsoft?

Postby MrSlipperHat » Fri Apr 08, 2011 10:32 am

I've been looking for one, and I may or may not have found one, but I would rather you guys tell me where to find a quality M8 airsoft rifle.

This is the one I found.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty

What battery should I get for it, it says that it doesn't come with one.

I think it is if you replace the internals.

the SRC Gen 3 Gearboxes are fairly decent to begin with though aren't they?

A 9.6 or a low-voltage LiPo.

SRC is TSD, so internal overhaul needed...

An SRC Gen 2 is about the same as a standard Echo 1 internally. The Gen 3 on the other hand is a whole different animal. Gen 3 internals are absolutely AMAZING. Similar to, but better than G&P and give KWA 2GX a run for their money. The green polycarb piston that comes stock with SRC guns is on par with the several Modify Polycarb's I've owned. I've run mine on an M130 at 20rps and it has very little wear. The bearings are good, the spring guide (aluminum with bearings) does the job perfectly, and the aluminum cylinder head leaves nothing to be desired. The double O-ring piston head is outstanding as well. Combined with the SRC cylinder, it gives PERFECT (no leaks at all) compression.

SRC/TSD used to be crap like any JG (for the most part), but now they are putting out some top of the line performers with their Gen 3 line. Unless you've owned/worked on a Gen 3, don't just spout of what you've heard from old sources.

To the OP: You're looking at a Gen 2, so you will need to do some upgrades just like any other ACM. This is what you should be looking into: http://ontargetairsoft.com/store/index. ... 0f1974f697

Unfortunately, the SRC G36 metal hopup is still the worst unit ever created.
