Longer stock, M14 or M16?

Postby God » Wed Jul 13, 2011 8:27 am

Hi, so, the longest stock I can hold effectively is a M16. I guess I can also hold a M24, but not very effectively.

Is the M14 length from butt of the stock to the trigger greater or less than the M16 measuring the same way?

Thanks in advance to anyone who checks this for me.

I am asking as I found a real wood G&G M14 for $210 shipped w/ scope and a KWA M16 for $300. So I am trying to decide which will be better for a DMR base. Looks-wise and internally.

Really?
Just go hold each and see how they feel.

I'm sure, though, that a full stock isn't that different in length than any other. For RS shotguns fit is a big deal, but for an airsoft gun? You'll be fine with either.

See what you event hosters started with your "DMR's are different" rules? There's 2-3 posts a month now about DMR's and wanting that extra 50 fps.

hes not asking for the overall length hes asking if theres a different length of pull, from the trigger to the end of the stock.

if nobody has answered this by the time i get home (and i havent forgotten about it) ill measure the length of pull on one of my M16s and my M14s and post it up.

Sixx--he doesn't want to know overall length, just "butt to trigger." Overall probably doesn't help much.

I feel like they're about the same... But that'd just going by memory and feel.

M16= ~14 inches
M14= ~13 inches

Via Google...
That doesn't seem right to me though.

Weird, I just measured both, and the M14 came in at almost exactly 13 inches from stock butt to trigger, with the M16 coming in at almost 14 inches. I could've sworn the M14's stock was longer.

If I were the OP and this mattered that much, I'd go to a game and feel up other people's rifles (I say this because the M14 still feels as if it has a longer stock, even though it doesn't).

Picture proof:

I do not. I buy very little of what I ask about. Only the best of the best of the offers. I'm a merchant. That's it.

Thanks G36 FTW.
That surprises me a lot. I think it's maybe the pistol grip is what makes it feel shorter?

To everyone else:
IF I had a M14 easily at my disposal to "feel up", I probably wouldn't need to ask.
