CA Sar Taktik II Batteries and other things

Postby johannhamblin » Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:39 am

I would like to know what size battery will fit into a CA SAR Taktik II, and also whether I should go for an 8.4v or a 9.6v. I'm not terribly concerned with rate of fire at this point (though I do plan on upgrading significantly the first time a failure occurs and I have to open up the gearbox).

The battery that I've been looking at is this:

I have also heard that the gun is prone to having the stock break off. While I do plan on getting some wood furniture for the gun at some point in the future similar to this:

I would like to know if there is a way to prevent it from happening (I've read that it has something to do with weak screws or pins that attach the stock to the gun).

Also, from my reading it seems that a number of people switch to a pistol grip handle as opposed to the handle that comes with the gun. Is this just preference or is there something to it?

Finally, is anyone interested in selling a CA SAR Taktik II? It will be my first AEG and I think that it looks amazing. I've looked all around the classified ads in a few air soft forums and haven't been able to find anything recent. There are websites that I've found that sell them but the range of prices is pretty huge since CA doesn't make the gun any more (they don't, right?). I don't want to pay $350 for one but I also don't want to pay $250 for one and have it be a cheap knockoff.

Thank you very much for any help in advance.
