Unknown quality of parts on gun

I've had my JG M4 for slightly over a year now, and recently I actually looked at the gearbox (still haven't opened it yet though) and noticed some things that i was told were uncommon in standard JG/GB gearboxes. The piston is orange, the cylinder is very shiny, I'm almost certain it's chrome, and the gearbox is black with the letters "SB" on it. I know this sounds noobish, but I am curious as to why they would chrome plate a cylinder, and if the orange piston means anything (someone said it means high quality but I am unsure of that). as a side note it has ran great (it still does) with no maintenance whatsoever (except for keeping the spring decompressed). so I was wondering if i should think about buying a new gun or gearbox. pics will follow upon request.

All of that sounds about right. Opened up a friends Echo-1 M4 and it had those internals. To be honest, most parts are all of the same quality, it just has more to do with how well you install them and make them work together. If you leave it stock, and just shim/AoE correct etc, it should last a long time.

That very same gearbox is found in the "echo 1 platinum series" m4. It's a mix of echo 1 custom built shell with some vfc custom made parts specifically for the "platinum series". I had one of those gearboxes and sold it (just the gearbox) for 200$ flat. It's a great gearbox, doesn't follow usual e1 crap in a gun protocol, because they had help from vega force. Definitely a keeper

The E-1 Platinum is a VFC E-Series. If you had those internals with a "VFC" someone ripped you off. And then you sold them a E-1 gearbox for $200.. Hell even the VFC gearboxes aren't worth that, nor are ANY other gearboxes on the market, so excuse my bull-sh*tometer flashing and making all sorts of strange noise.

This. If you sold someone that gearbox for $200 you ripped them off, and if someone sold you the Echo1 "platinum" M4 with a JG gearbox they ripped you off. They have VFC gearboxes stock.

I agree with Minerva. Those parts are standard JG parts, not VFC or VFC OEM.
