new AEG

Postby Bircher » Wed Oct 19, 2011 9:01 am

i have another topic about wanting to get a sniper, this is that same topic, but for my choice of an AEG.

choice1:
AGM m16a3
http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=30906

choice2:
M14
http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?c ... s_id=28218

i am dead set on an american made rifle to match my marine loadout, i still magazines from my previous m4, so hopefully they will be compatible with a new m4/m16.

edit: if there is a nicer quality version of one of the guns i have listed, please link it

also, the insurance comapny valued my old m4(it was stolen in home invasion) at roughly 300-500

edit: How good is the AGM m16, how good is the quality on that gun(1-10), preformance(1-10), and dependability(1-10)

Buy this gun http://www.airsoftoutletnw.com/index.ph ... &Itemid=28

From these guys http://www.airsoftoutletnw.com/ and you will be fine.

The gun will take the M-4/ M-16 Mags you already own and you will have a good rifle to play and improve your field craft before buying your own Bolt rifle and going out to do the sniper thing.

Practice Practice Practice and when you think your are ready for a bolt rifle practice some more with what you have. Some of the best bolt turners are not even turning a bolt, because they think they need more practice at field craft, and are not ready to be a sniper yet.

Also the G&G M14 will not accept the M-4/ M-16 Mags you have so you will have to buy new mags . Since you want to use what you have I would not suggest that rifle.

G&P.
You might need some very minute sanding on the top, but G&P is teh sex.
M14's are nice, but don't fit as well with your "Marine Loadout" (if it is modern).

If you do decide to go with an M14 and want a more modern look, you could go with a G&P M14 DMR. Or you could get a different M14 and buy the G&P DMR body seperately if you decide you really want a certain other brand.

I would condone that CA M16, even over a bolt, but I doubt you have that kind of money. You could a "latest edition" JG gun of many different types, and I doubt you would be disappointed. I went with a bolt and am slowly starting to like AEG play. You could do the same, but If you have the money, go with a G&G, G&P, or that M16.

I would suggest the M16. But that's me ;)
My reasoning is that the M16 is very universal, and can reach fairly far. The Parts are relatively easy to find, and spare mags are fairly cheap compared to other AEGs.
The M14, however, should reach out a lot further. But, you are limited to: harder to find parts, pricy mags, the gun being long and uncomfortorable, and the necesity to have a scope...
Again, I would prefer the M16, In my own opinion. But the M14 will give you better preformance.
*EDIT* Dont screw up and buy an Echo-1 M14. I made that mistake when I was younger, and I absolutely HATED the gun. But whatever, this should be common sense ;)

The M14 and M16 take the same inner barrel length at 509mm. So it would come down to other factor of mag compatibility. Which the M16 would fit or the M4 as well that you currently have.

The PSD's are out of stock at most places and the one that john linked was out of stock as well. Who knows if CA will ever get production running good again. From what I hear morale is really low in the company right now.

The G&G combat machines are a good choice to use. nylon fiber bodies (strong) and not plastic and not cheap crappy china man pot metal. Might look into those.

Im not trying to. Just simply giving him an option for a different look on the gun. I personally have never seen anyone on the field with a DMR body on an M14. I'm not saying go with a DMR role (please god dont), just saying that it might be a good idea for you to have a gun that is somewhat of a novelty. :D

Oh... By the way... Don't order from Evike...

I have done two orders from them and been screwed over both times. They have horrible customer service and it is next to impossible to return something to them...

...just sayin...

Personally, If I were to get another m14 it would be the TM version. It is the smoothest firing replica I've been near. Which is why I have owned 2 in the past.
