Its stuff like this that bugs the shit out of me. the so called “you cant go because it kills the so called scene for other people”. Some people dont have the luxury to buy complete gear due to money issues or job loss' and so they have to go with the bare necessity's. Every one diserve to play with the same privilege as you do even if they have no gear. EVEN IF IT BUGS YOU.

Umm. No. "Privelege" is entirely the wrong word to use. It makes you come off like one of the overly entitled s***birds hanging out at the OWS slums. People don't "diserve" to play airsoft any more than they "diserve" to get a free college education, drive a Porsche, or have threesomes with supermodels. People make the choice to participate, and allocate a portion of their income to pay for their participation in the hobby.

There really are events that have a minimum kit list. If you don't have the required kit, stay the f*** home. Or, alternatively, stick to skirmishes with no gear requirements, and let the folks that are looking to do hardcore mil-sim, or LARP-Sim, or whatever the cool kids are calling it this week, do their thing.

That being said, the minimum standard is to show up with what you need to safely support yourself, to include weapons, safety gear, proper footwear, hydration, ammo, batteries, meals, snivel gear, and what have you.

If you are running around in the spawn bumming ammo constantly, or having to stop every 15 seconds to reload your one magazine from a ziplock in the pocket of your hooded sweatshirt, you're probably not doing it right.

There are enough events going on that just about everyone can find something for them. If you don't meet the minimum standards for an event, that's on you to fix your s***. Either stick to the events you can meet the requirements for, or square yourself away and get the necessary kit for the ones you want to go to. Either way, it's a "you" issue, not a "them" issue.

You can gripe about the "elitists" all you want, but meet the d*** minimums for the event or GTFO. That "scene" you seem to think you have a god-given right to trample is exactly the immersion that some players are paying for, and some event promoters are trying to develop.

Oh, and it's spelled "deserve", you worthless cum-bubble. Stop assaulting my language. If you can't quit wasting the education that my tax dollars paid for, the least you can do is to pull the tool out of your mouth long enough to use a spell-check program. If you aren't willing to spend a few moments ensuring that your post is legible, why do you feel that anyone else should have to waste their time trying to extract meaning from your thought-vomit? Feel free to go back to eating all the dicks.

Hey, how about we answer the OP's question rather than argue with each other?

You don't need gear to play speedball.

You need gear to do mil-sim.

I'm with the majority of other folks who have replied - if you can save closer to $100 or $120 you will be much happier with the AEG you buy. You might find a deal for cheaper used, if you are lucky, but used guns are always a crap shoot. They could be great, or they could be horrible. Try before you buy, make sure you meet some place you can shoot it if you buy used.

Airsoft Elites Team wrote:I want an AEG extremely bad. But i have no money, and can maybe get up to 60-80 dollars. Does anyone have any recomendations or REALLY good sites. Also, do you know anyone who has one they don't want or use(ESPECIALLY A FREE ONE!!!)? Please post any thoughts.

PEOPLE- I can't get a job. You all say save up money. I can't really. I get no allowance or anything, so I usually make about $30-50 a year.

If ya ever make it up to the Couve, I have an old E1 M4 that's been beat on but she still fires. I'll let ya have it.
We have the best pricing in the NW for airsoft gear.

Icepick wrote:It sounds like you need a G&G Combat Machine... It's a durable, and comfortable platform which can be had for pretty cheap. They're also AR-15 models, so upgrades will be easy, and they will be compatible with lots of parts such as magazines and accessories.

Icepick wrote:Let this be info for the OP as well, maybe instead of buying an AEG you could get started on gear, just an idea.

I already did, and and went to a further extent! Now let me have my fun mom, I thought I wasn't grounded! ;)
