inb4 the tool shows you vague google results
the disassembly of the VFC SCAR-L is almost identical to the real steel FN SCAR-L
to get to the hopup you will need to get the outer barrel out
skip to @4:37 to the disassemble part

it didnt show how to remove the actual hopup system from the rest of the gun, so i can put in a new one. Almost all of the videos do the same thing, and just show how to take out the barrel assembly, but never go in for a full breakdown of that assembly. Ive watched almost every video on the VFC scar that i can find.

That tool with vague Google results --------------->

Are you having trouble getting the hop-up assembly out, or just disassembling it once you've removed the unit from the gun?

well both. I have a new hop up assembly, bucking, and nub in the mail. i need to know how to install all of those. But in order to do that i need to get the assembly out of the gun, and i believe for the nub i need to take apart the assembly as well. Correct me if im wrong on that.

so far i have removed the hopup all the way down to the assembly plus the block of metal that attaches the outer barrel to the lower handgaurd. But i cant figure out how to get the hopup assembly off of this block.

even if you can find a video on installing a new inner barrel. That would involve removing it from the hopup and bucking. Which should help.

You need to remove the two screws that are marked with red on both sides. Doing that will let the top of the hop-up slide out. Make sure you don't lose the spring that is in there. After that, it's the same as taking apart any other hop-up.

on the VFC those screws are used to remove the lower handgaurd and barrel assembly from the gun. Here is where i am at. I pulled out the inner barrel and bucking, but i dont think i would be able to put it back in the same way. since i took it out in a rather harmful way :).

P.S. I have a Polar star concave nub in the mail as well. So figuring out how to install that would help too. I know i should know this before i buy. But there doesnt seem to be anywhere to learn how. except on these forums. so bare with me a bit here. As i havent worked with hopup systems very much. i try to avoid them.....because they make my head hurt. :)

there are 2 tiny screws on either side of the barrel right next to the hopup, loosen those and everything should slide right out
