More info. As in what type of m4 or m16 and links to specific guns helps. Overall an m4 will come in handy but if you want long range without having a long suppressor on your m4 you gotta go with an m16. If your small and use a one point don't buy an m16. I've seen to many kids dragging their guns on the ground.

I own a m16 and in most games the extra range is not worth the trade off of having a longer barrel. If you want to put flashlights and other stuff on your gun get a m4. if you want to hit people at longer ranges but be at a disadvantage at close range get a m16. My advice is go to a game think about how you want to play and then figure it out from there, but be warned a m16 is a lot bulkier then you think if you are small.

I'm sorry, are there non-tactical weapons?

That aside, either platform will support the M203, a scope, a flashlight. They're the same gun, but for a few minor changes and barrel length. That's basically it. An M16A4 with a floating rail is the same as an M4A1 with a floating rail, save for the collapsable stock and the barrel length. SAME. GUN.

M4 for close quarters to mid ranged combat

M16s for mid to long ranged combat.

I'd go with the M4, because you're able to use it for about anything. Target too far? Don't be a lazy shazaam, and use your legs.

M16s just have a longer barrel compared to the M4 system, which is just shorter.

Or just go for a bullpup system like the AUG, or the Tavor. They're both shorter than an M4 but IIRC have a longer inner, and can be used with just as many options.

Your name is Marine Marine Marine.

Marines use M16s. Get one of those.
