How many shots per mah on a lipo?

Postby The Murse » Sat Jun 23, 2012 9:23 pm

So I know that on a NiMH a gun usually gets about 1-2 bbs per shot, but how much does one get per mah when using a lipo?
I have heard that one can get more shots per mah in a lipo but I really don't know how much.

Any one got some Lipo knowledge?

Wouldn't this depend on the spring and motor?

Spring and motor would definitely change the efficiency of the battery. 1-2 shots per mAh? Where did you get that? Also, isn't it nice how hot it's been lately? Should make for good games!

Who told you that? I have never really counted but that doesn't seem right I can normally get through 1 1/2 bags of bbs on a 9.6 1600 mah.

And those who want to know where the "1-2 shots per mAh" thing is coming from:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=101

Battery capacity: Replicas with full stocks can hold a larger battery then other replicas. Batteries come in three styles: Mini, Large and Stick. Mini batteries are usually 8.4v and 600mAh while Large batteries are usually 8.4v 3000mAh or ever larger. Stick batteries are usually 8.4v 600mAh. When I started airsoft I learned that with a stock replica, a very rough guideline for how many shots you could take before your battery died is a 1:1 conversation. Meaning for ever mAh you have, you can fire one BB. Example, you have a 3000mAh battery, so you are generally going to be able to fire 3000 BBs before it needs to be recharged. As I stated, this a VERY rough guideline and is only really even that accurate on stock replicas, once things inside the mechbox start getting upgraded, the battery is forced to use more energy with each shot. For more information on batteries, please refer to the Battery FAQ (it's below this FAQ and the Mechbox FAQ).

Stickies are bleeding awesome.

And one half bag? That's about average from a 9.6 1600.

From what I gather from my LiPo using friends, all they say is that it has a better trigger response and runs through your AEG quicker. I'd say 1-2 shots per mAh. Or just not give two fucks and carry some spare batteries and charge them before games. When one dies, replace it. Easy.

I put 5,000+ rounds through my 2200mah lipo at LOW5 with 0 loss of strength. I've probably run over 15,000 through it between charges at one point. I usually only charge it before a game, if it seems sluggish while testing my replica.

Thanks for the help guys!!

PS: Is there a battery sticky? I went on to RC websites actually to look up lipo's.

It started out with understand 'C'
How did it end up like this
It was only a 'C', It was only a 'C'

The Killers aside, I had no idea what C meant and ended up spending several hours yesterday reading about Lipos, NiMH and NiCd batteries. Is there a sticky on batteries here or could I put up a petition for one? I would love to help design one/ with help from the community make a good guide on batteries for the average airsofter.
