To avoid a necro post. jg g36c

Postby Farmer » Thu Jul 05, 2012 5:36 pm

I just traded my buddy a g-36c for my m-14 socom. Long story but he decided the g-36 wasnt what he wanted after all....( if only he had LISTENED) Anywho, I have already added a cheap ncstar red dot to it, imho it makes it look sexy, the next upgrade I was thinking about was a barrel upgrade. Only wanna go to a 6.03, not a super tight bore or overly super amazing part cause I am not sure if upgrading a JG is worth it until I can upgrade ALL the internals at once. Sorta have this wild dream of having an amazing g-36 internally in a jg gun body. Now, the wild dream is probably just that, a dream.

The question is a 2 parter.
#1 (knowing the wife has told me to start saving for the next gun I want) Should I upgrade the barrel to a 6.03? Accuracy isnt THAT big a deal to me, currently at 25 ft ( short range I know) I am hitting playing cards 7 out of 7 shots.

#2 Or should I just leave it as is and use the barrel money as a boost to the next rifle? I understand ultimitly it is my choice, but bieng a noob I am more then willing to listen to advice.

(WARNING) things like (-blank-) M-4 is the ONLY way to go will get you ignored. while I will own an M-4 eventually, Currently I like bieng that different guy. suggestions, I will at least listen to, didnt do so swell the 2 years I was military with orders, and I still dont do so swell with em.

I would go with the new tightbore since it will only set you back about 30 dollars. Accuracy and range will make a huge difference on the field. Most shots you will be taking are 60-100 feet with the occasional shot inside or outside that distance. And you will forever be shooting through brush so you'r going to want an accurate gun.

Save for the new gun unless you have a real issue that you have to fix with the current one.

Play with it as is for a while. Then you can decide if you wanna upgrade it (if it needs to be). Or save for a new rifle. No need to rush to any decissions.

This, I've had a Classic Army M4 for about a year now and haven't upgraded anything on it.

I'd just purchase upgrades as things start to fall apart. If the cost becomes more than the rifle itself, then I'd buy a new platform.

I only threw new parts in because my older parts were going out, like the nozzle and such. I thought the spring was going out too, but I was wrong. I replaced it anyways.

I've heard the bearings out of the box were shit anyways from what I've read about my rifle so I replaced them as I broke one putting the gearbox back together.

But yeah, it's a better choice to just replace as you go or until it all falls apart, buy a new rifle.

Thanks for the advice folks. I am not the type of person who wants to have a super flashy weapon, just one that well, does the talking.

I have a Vanaras 6.03 247mm length tight bore for sale right now for a whole $10. Says it fits a G36C.

If the TBB only costs $30, it's not worth the money. Get a quality TBB like a Prometheus or a Dees barrel (can be had at precisionairsoft.com). I've tried Madbull and AirsoftGI barrels which are around the $30 range, and they were not nearly as accurate as I would've liked. I've found the extra $20~ is really worth it for barrels.

This is 100% true. Buy a nice barrel or it's not worth it.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I am trying to act like a sponge here and soak up eveyone's advice. It might save me a bit of frustration, time and money sometime down the line.
