Lipo's have a more stable output, are not effect by cold weather, and for something that's half the price and a quarter the size of a NIMH; Lipo's have basically revolutionized the entire hobby industry ever since they came out.

also a 1200mAh 9.6V NIMH battery is usually what comes with a chinese gun, the more higher end 9.6V batteries like the one that comes with G&G guns is 1600mAh

so instead of wasting time drilling holes or wasting money buying a new hand guard, if you really want a PEQ box you could look into one that has lasers and flashlight instead of a plastic case that does nothing

Thanks! But I always thought G&G never stocked batteries with their gun, and chinese guns come with an 8.4v not a 9.6v battery. It's just a "testing battery" apparently. That and I don't really want PEQ with flashlights/lasers. There is really no use for having them on a gun, I might as well get a PEQ that's 50 dollars cheaper, toss in a 9.6v(or 7.4v LiPo) 2-3000 Mah battery, then get a seperate J-Rich flashlight for the side mount for $30-40, save 10 dollars and be able to play all day no problem.

G&G have gun packages that come with battery and charger you just need to pay more, also not all Chinese guns come with 8.4V http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=39296 and in the description it says to use 9.6 V batteries.
If you're complaining about saving $10 then why this whole setup in the firstplace......

I've used a PEQ on a G36 in the past. It works just fine, but doesn't look terribly great on the standard G36 handguards (just as a warning). They look ok on G36 RIS forgrips though.

You can use the vent holes for the wiring to a peq box. Just file one out untill it is large enough for whatever connector you're using to slip though. Beware of taking off tamiya connectors, I've broken some while doing so (connectors break/crack, metal tabs bend/break, etc...). Here is a picture of my old G36 with the vent filed to allow the connector though (please forgive the paint job...): http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25 ... 1317981342

i linked him to a 11.1v?????? lol my bad. i meant to link to a 7.4v. i personally dont recommend the 11.1v's because they seem to ruin my hopup nubs from firing too fast and they will also run you out of ammo pretty quickly. And i use midcaps. So a high ROF is not good for me personally.. They have some 7.4v's for about the same price,

Also @ G36FTW on the topic of breaking tamiya connectors. I broke off the wires on my old battery pack from the tamiya connector a few days ago. And when the wires touched it went all sparky, poofy and hot. I melted part of my mouse pad. since i was working with it on my computer table.
