Looking to buy an AKS-74

Postby Russkie » Wed Jul 11, 2012 3:12 pm

I'm looking to buy an AKS-74 for a back up gun and for OP: Eastwind. Now, I'm trying to decide which brand. I know I want either a VFC, Dboys Full Steel, or LCT body kit w/ CYMA internals. The Dboys is all I can really afford at the moment, but I'm willing to save up if the VFC and/or the LCT is worth the extra dollar since getting the gun right away is not a priority. I know quite a bit about how each one these guns operate, but I want people who have had experiences with AK's from these brands to chime in.

Thanks.

I've got an AKS-74 that's a Dboys and I'm quite happy with it. It didn't have quite the fit and finish of a higher end gun, but on an AK I actually prefer that. It shoots just fine, so I don't really care if it gets beat up looking fairly quickly. If anything it makes it look cooler.

DBoys wood and steel ones are pretty damn good guns. You can't go wrong with them.

I had a Dboys wood and steel model AKS-74. It was a great gun. Came shooting a bit on the hot side but backed down to a steady 380ish. I wrote a mini-review a few years back.
