Upgrades for VFC

Postby Riuk » Mon Aug 27, 2012 4:47 pm

I ordered my VFC MK18 Mod1, and I plan on running the stock internals for awhile, but I was just wondering, what would be the first internal upgrade I should get for it? obviously whatever breaks first but I mean in terms of upgrading. I've never had a VFC before so I'm not familiar with whats good and whats bad. Thanks

As far as upgrades go, it really depends on what you want to make your AEG into. Common ways to upgrade are either high speed (measured in BBs per second) or high torque (used to pull high strength srings, measured usally in a high FPS). These two common paths tell you what kinds of gears, bearings, tappet plate, piston, and motor (this includes other items as well). So when upgrading an AEG you have to ask what kinds of upgrades you want out of parts before you start dumping upgrade parts into an AEG.
I'm a major chairsofter, sorry about that.

barrel and bucking will both increase your compresion, range, hop up effectiveness, and accuracy

I would get a aim high torque motor and get a m120 or 30 to make it into a super efective field gun, however don't do that if you play cqb, a 60 fps upgrade would bbe $40 for instaltion and increase your range by 20ish feet IF you had a good barrel and bb

When an internal breaks, buy a polar star engine.

I don't know much about VFC beyond that they're expensive and have top-of-the-line externals. I do know this! If you want to play CQB, then you'll want to put a couple thousand rounds through your rifle to break it in. Then you'll want to Chrono it. If you're too high, you can look at weaker strength springs or this. That's the extent of my expertise. ;)

Good luck!
