Opinions on the JG AUG?

Postby EnarahRovaaniik » Sun Sep 09, 2012 7:19 pm

I'm in the market for a new gun as a Christmas present (I know, it's a long ways) so I have been looking at JG's line of AUGs. People seem to like them, just has the trigger problem that all the AUGs do occasionally. I want to see what the AP members think of them. I want feed back from people who own one, or who have used one.

I have a buddy that owns one, it gets meh ROF and for some reason his air seal randomly broke(BBs fly maybe 50 feet and drop dead). I'd like to say that he just got a lemon gun, because other than that I've heard good things. I bought a gun that had next to no reviews and people said it wasn't that great, but I absolutely love the hell out of it.

Skip JG and get one of the CA's. Mine is 6 years old and still rock solid. Or if you can still find one, the TM AUGs were nice too.

The cheaper brands just don't have the same feel to them.

Bullpups are rad (inb4 M4 blah modular blah). Obviously you have good taste OP.

With JG, their older versions were not very good. Avoid the A1 (military w/scope) and A2 (rail). The A3, with the front rail system, however has excellent internals. It shoots a little hot, 430-450 fps, so you'd need to downgrade the spring or disable semi and use it as a DMR. It also has a simple mosfet.

I've owned a CA aug a-2 and my cousin has a JG aug a-3. The JG is better externally, the CA had better stock internals. The JG is a great gun tho. Toss in a new bucking/barrel and it is very accurate. But use lipo's, 7.4v's due to the small battery compartment. 11.1v if you like to up the ROF.

This is the one he has, http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/spo/3225990073.html, it's really a cool AEG to handle and shoot.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty

Thanks guys, I was definitely looking at the A3, I'll just need an optic on it :\
I'm also thinking the Echo 1 AMD-65.

Ive actually owed 2 of them, including the A1 and the A3. my A1 at first had no problems at all. a few weeks later the scope started to become all wacked out. a pin had been defective that holds part of the integrated scopes crosshairs in line. a couple months after that i started to experience problems with various internal parts including the hop up, cylinder, piston, wiring, and trigger. The A3 had no problems internally except for the mounting hardware that holds on to the back plate inside the receiver. aside from these two, ive worked on a great deal of them and they seem to be prone to many problems. If you want a more reliable AUG i would have to suggest the Classic Army. Airsoft Outlet NW currently has 2 AUG A2's I beleive if you cant find them anywhere else.

I used to have a Jg AUg. It ran for a great 2 years until It pooped.. xD

But then, I popped the gearbox open and went to work. Got a good 25-30 RPS, 450 fps, and a SOLID 250 feet of range. It you upgrade it, it can be a beast.
