KWA M4A1 Upgrade Ideas

Postby Goliath17 » Mon Oct 22, 2012 10:08 pm

I have this KWA M4A1 and I need some ideas on upgrades. I want to know what upgrades will make this gun a great Outdoor gun. (ie: increase accuracy, range, and sexyness) thanks guys
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless.

the only internal upgrades would be a tightbore barrel ,but a kwa already has 6.04 so really just uprade externals. get a magpul moe handguard. puts some rails on the handguard.

I have a kwa Sr-7. I put a madbull bucking, 6.01 tightbore barrel, also a suppressor, which allowed me to put a longer inner barrel on. I get kick butt range and shoot .28 or .30 bbs.
There's a little toy soldier in all of us....you just have to find it!!! :-)

I like the original barrel in the KWA M4A1. If you put in a MadBull Blue Bucking I've had the KWA KM4 shoot over 200ft accurately with the stock barrel.

If you want to add a grip and a light, the Magpul MOE Handguard and an MOE Scout Light Mount is a pretty slick setup.

The nice thing there is that the battery still fits in the MOE.

A bit of a highjack but is it suggested that KWA's, particularly the SR10, be benefitted by new wiring and a mosfet that allows 3 round burst? Or is this no the gun to upgrade in this way?

i allways replace the wiring and add a fet to any gun that i am working on or plan to/ know that is going to see heavy use. mosfets help increasse the efficency of the electrical system. if you can afford them i allways suggest them, and since they can be had anywhere from $10-120 there is something out there to fit everones budget. if you feel up to the challenge there are several tutorials out there that will show you how to build you own for just a couple of bucks.

as for upgrades to your kwa goes, there isnt much you cant do. contrary to popular belief, their parts arent as popriatary as everyone want to say. there are very few parts that cant be replaced or upgraded in them.
i have had trouble with not being able to replace nozzels, but i think that was a lip issue on the nozzel that stopped it from going all the way into the hop-up. so far that is the only think that i have had trouble with.
so, in short,if you want to do it, do it.

It's a great way to conserve ammo and that means you dot have to carry very many mags but I personaly have never needed the feature because if i need to save ammo I'm just as well using semi.

I own 3 kwa guns. 2 m4s and a mp7. As for your question i know from experience if it is a 2gx m4 then its a great field gun as is. As for its sexy ness i like a supressor and eotech along with a moe hangaurd and a afg. But thats my opinion. As for upgrading it needs a piston. That is the only thing ive ever needed to replace. I recommend a shs high speed. With a angle of engagement adjustment done to it. As for kwa guns being proprietary let me clear that up. Offically they are compatible with standard v2 parts. However due to tight tolerances some issues may occur depending on what brand upgrade you use. For instance the madbull blue bucking they speak of i like a lot however its amazingly hard to get it into a kwa hop up. Barrels are easy buckings not so much. I have a mabull 6.03 but i saw no to little difference in range or accuracy. Another example is i put g&p gears in a 2gx kwa and they worked but with lots of resistance and they stuck to the gb shell. I dont know every part that eill or will not fit. My advice is to leave it alone tell it breaks. The outside have fun but the inside is one of the best in the industry and its great all on its own. P.s. wait tell the piston breaks or our ready for a lipo to buy a new one :)just just an opinion -D

as a tech and a rep/dealer for shs i dont recomend the shs high speed at all and only the high torque if you arent going to run it hard. the high speed will sometimes shed a wind and they both get very hot under heavy, extended use.
ive had some that got hot after only a 1.5-2 highcap mags some less than that. lonex motors are good, echo1 high torque neo motors are good, jg red/blue are good, and im waiting for my new shipment of core parts so that i can start testing their motors.
i also recomend that you leave them alone till they break or you have to modify them for your field reg's
i personaly dont like the madbul line of barrels or any other barrel that is made of aluminium. they will never have as good of tolerances as a quallity stainless barrel. i run prommys in all my personal guns.
last thing i want to say is about the piston/head combo. yes it will hold up for a while, but the combo of using the plastic piston with a metal unported piston head and the 16:1 gears that they come with was short sighted pe is what is going to kill your piston. if you are going to get into the gb do yourself a favor and replace at least the piston head with a pom ported one and correct the aoe

I did some research and this was the best mosfet I came across. I am going to put this in my KWA after christmas.
