So i looked around on the webs, and here and couldn't find anything from the results i found. Here is the problem and gun i have.
A&K m249. Worked flawlessly for 8 months, i have dissembled it several times to clean and lube. Total gearbox tear down at least 3 times with no issues.
Last week i took it apart to paint the plastic parts only, i removed them completely so i wouldn't over spray the metal stuff. I reassembled the gun with no issues. But i didn't test fire it afterwords.
Saturday i went to use it, but gun would not feed one bb. I fooled around with it at the field, but couldn't get it to load anything into the hopup unit. Took it home and after looking further found that the sector gear had some teeth missing from the lower gears. Thought that might have been the issue.
I replaced the gears, a few other parts, and re assembled the gearbox, works perfectly. Put it all back together but still doesn't feed.
Now the 249 has the quick detach barrel assembly, so i took just the inner barrel and lined it into the spot, pulled the trigger while holding onto the barrel and moved it forward and back and did get some bb's to load and shoot. Some did shatter however.
I then put the inner barrel in the outer without the tension spring and got a few more to shoot. But nothing consistent. I do have a total separate barrel and hopup unit for the same AEG that i tried with the same results.
Does anyone have an idea on why a gun that worked perfectly would all the sudden stop feeding after a paint job on parts that have nothing to do with the function of the gun? Did i perhaps loose something when i took it apart? Is there a spacer that goes between the hopup and gearbox? I am totally stumped on this one.
When i look through the feed tube the hopup looks to be sitting just a hair too far back, but everything i do to adjust it doesn't work.
Anyone have a similar issue that they were able to fix? Should i break out the files and start opening up the hopup? Thanks in advance.
