Ares/STAR gearboxes questions

I have an Ares/STAR M16. Does anyone know anything about the gearboxes? They're kind of unusual with the spring change feature. Is there a certain brand of gearbox that fits the best in these guns? I put an m120 in the stock gearbox and I'm paranoid it will crack the shell. Idk. If there is a source for new gearbox shells for this gun or if you know anything about said gearboxes, please give me your two cents.
