ill leave you 2 videos here of what a properly tuned gun sounds like with the motor hight adjusted properly.
this is my lr300 custom. the motor height was set using the halfshell method and then the bevel was shimmed to the pinion using a dial indicator and the rest of the gears were shimmed this way as well. gears are core 13:1 ratio with a custon 20tpa motor and a core piston
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5mB77z70IIthe second gun is my g&p zombie killer custom. it has riot 14.09:1 gears, super shooter piston, and a custom 28 tpa motor. the pinion height was set using the half shell method and was then shimmed the old fashion way, by feel. i much prefer doing it with my dial indicator, it is so much more precise that way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uze53Vpi5kboth guns run off of a turnigy 11.1 25-50c batterys, i just purchased turnigy 11.1 45-90c batterys but they arent wired to deans yet so i havent used them yet.
believe it or not i got more money in the g&p zombie killer than i do in the prime lr300. lol.
edit2: when building a gb and setting the motor height, be sure to locktite the adjustment screw so that it doesnt back out and screw up the settings. i need to actualy set down and film my method of doing the motor height and shimming with a dial indicator.
edit3: here is another example of what a properly tuned gb with proper motor height sound like, this one is not one of mine.
