Majority of it is in the bucking. Soft, Hard, 60 to 80 degree I believe. R Hop bucking, G hop up bucking, Flat hop up bucking. A team mate has the same M4 as you mention and his gun is hitting 175ft. There is a lot of factors on everything your asking. It's not just the hop up unit you asked for. Type of barrel (steel, brash, 6.01, 6.03, 6.05 and length of barrel(. Weight of Bb it's all a puzzle and you have to figure it out. First thing to do is get a TBB I recommend the 363mm 6.01 Angel. Others will say watch for jamming on the 6.01 but if you use good Bbs not this walmart or crossbow brands you will be fine. I've ran the 6.01 for 2 years now and have NEVER had a jam issue. I like the 70 degree hard buckings and use 0.25g to 0.30 Bbs.
