New M4 is jamming a lot

Postby Zeta Crossfire » Fri Feb 19, 2010 2:12 pm

my new KWA SR10 has been jamming a lot recently. I have had the gun for less then a month and it seems like every 20-30 bb's I shoot through it and it jams. I cleaned the barrel with a cloth so there is no gunk in the barrel. It jams mostly when I shoot it on full auto but I'm only firing 3-5 bb's at a time I'm not holding down the trigger for long periods of time, and it also jams on single fire but not as often.

What do you guys think it is? I know there's nothing in the barrel. I used 3 different bags of ammo to and it jammed with each bag. There high quality bb's I bought at AONW so don't think its that. Help would be appreciated thanks.

Mid caps? High caps tend to jam my Dboys, but mids and real caps do just fine.

Another note; I know we have different platforms, but my hop up unit also seemed to be the culprit, so i bought a new metal one and its been pretty good ever since.

Also check the hop up packing and Nub to ensure they are in the right place. If you cant do it, take it to someone who can and you know can fix it.

Is it jamming with the mag that came with the gun?

If its not the mags or the BBs, its definitely the hop up unit or the packing. Realign the bucking and the nub and if it still jams, buy a new hop up unit.

TMiller, quiet. He should not buy a new hop-up unit. New bucking? Maybe.

Zeta, turn your hop-up adjustment down. If it's way too high, you may get occasional jams.

Shoot some silicone in the hop-up feed tube. Accuracy will be crazy for a few hundred shots. If it's brand new, the bucking may not be lubed correctly.

This.

I've seen dozens of fresh outta of the box replicas need this.

Also, make sure to check the inner barrel for any flaws itself. I've seen a few bent barrels in AEG's in their stock form. (Now, this hopefully isn't a issue for you, thanks to the fact that you bought KWA, but it never hurts to put in a tightbore.)

right there. thats the problem.

I know all the KWA fanboys will say im all wrong, but honestly, they're the ones that are all wrong. I've never had a problem with a Tokyo Marui gun.

+1, i agree, no one will admit it, but kendo's AK beta fires better than a KWA.

Less than 300FPS, almost completely apart due to falling on the ground a shit load or throwing it across the field or down hills.

But almost everyones KWA that I've seen (besides mini's?) has had multiple problems.

Anti-fanboys are as bad as fanboys. They love it, you hate it, but neither one is being objective.

Zeta, did you install an aftermarket flashhider? If you did, you may have damaged the hop-up bucking or unit.

Sorry for the late response, I have not added anything to it, it's a stock gun. My charger died and I have not been able to shoot it since I wrote this. I purchased a new one and charging a battery as I type so I will if its still jamming once It's done.

Here's kindof a no-brainer...
When you stuck a cleaning rod down your gun's barrel, did you turn the HU off first?

Also please describe the jam. Is it failing to feed or are BBs feeding into the HU and then getting stuck there?
