Echo 1 SCAR-L Questions.

Postby Moose. » Sun Oct 24, 2010 9:30 pm

Alright, so I'm considering purchasing the Echo 1 SCAR-L.

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=5743

And I have a few questions about it, I've heard great reviews about it for CQB but how about the field? Since I do little CQB I worry that it might not do as well at longer diostance fighting.

Also I'm wondering about how upgradable it is?

And if you have any experience with the gun are there any specific flaws to watch out for?

All help is appreciated, as always, thanks guys. :D

I would usually say just buy the Dboys version because that is what Echo1 rebrands- but ASGI is out of the Dboys version.

It should be fine on the field, although you could purchase a tight bore barrel and better bucking later on if you wanted.

It houses a version 2 gearbox and is upgradeable with all Tokyo Marui compatible parts (or should be)...

As for specific problems with that particular gun, the only bad thing I have heard about it was that the paint/finish can chip/flake off.

They don't have M4 type hopup units. But $235 for essentially a dboys scar just doesn't seem like a good deal at all. I had an E1 SCAR and it was kind of okay, I wouldn't pay more than $150 for one if I was in the market for a SCAR though.

I had the Dboys version (same thing) and it was fine. Held up better than my CA SCAR. If you plan on using it for CQC, then plan on getting it downgraded spring wise. Mine was shooting 400~ stock. I dropped a Dees 400mm barrel in it and hid the length with an AAC can (which BTW looks sexy as balls on SCARS ;) and had no issues running it on the field.

Alright, since the Echo 1 is so much more expensive should I consider getting the D-Boys? I found it on airsplat (Never purchased anything from there before) Are there any big differences between the two versions?

Sorry but you make no sense. Usually Echo 1 rebrands dboys and other china clones. The difference is quality control and maybe an upgraded part or two. Plus you get a 15 day warranty. I would actually suggest buying neither and buy an m4 instead.

I actually recently sold my G&G M4, I like the feel of a SCAR and am not going for anything else.

Then I'd suggest going for a higher end brand.

I haven't heard anything too good about the higher end brands, heard better reviews about the lower end versions of the SCAR.

So you're saying you consider the dboys scar better than the VFC just because of what you heard in reviews?

I wouldn't mind the VFC, but I was thinking of the CA SCAR as a bad example in particular. I'd take the VFC anyday, just being a bit budget conscious. If the D Boys SCAR preforms well, might as well invest in it.

Well it's not like you can replace the dboys externals. IMO in the end it'd be worth it for the VFC, but it really isn't my choice.

save up all your money then use all your saved up money to buy a VFC and then call it a day.

my first aeg was the echo1 scar...idk if it was just me, but mine came with an effed up hopup/bucking and a broken stock...but i hear the stocks break all the time cause they suck anyways. but for cqb definitely downgrade the spring echo1 guns tend to shoot a bit hotter than most.

E1 SCAR=Dboys SCAR

If you can afford the VFC, go with that. But the Dboys is a good choice if your looking to save some money.
