Buy the KWA you will be much more happy. I have one and it has worked for 2 years straight. A friend bought the ARES version and sure it's a lot better looking externally, but it broke the first weekend he used it.

True that, I've heard nothing but bad about the ARES/Umarex version. All the airsoft dealers have broken ones in their boneyard :p

Yay, another topic that exists in about 100 different forms.

G36 Wise

Classic Army>Ares>KWA>SRC

Classic Army's last series of g36s before they were discontinued had great gearboxes, the only problem continues to be their thin wiring which eventually would need to be replaced. They also had the best externals to date of any air soft rifle (g36 wise). Good luck finding one though...

Ares'es G36s are pretty nice as well, but they can be finicky and need to be re-shimmed right out of the box. They have real trademarks as well, but their body seem lines are irritatingly obvious. Another con (for me) is the weak electric blow back, but it could pretty easily be disabled.

KWA's g36c has the best gearbox out of all of them, but they are know for periodic feeding issues and their externals are kinda meh...

SRC's g36s have the highest quality fiberglass bodies, but their body's seem lines are atrocious, and they are very squeaky. They also have a proprietary hop-up which sucks (you can mod a TM type hop-up to fit, but it is a pain in the a$$).

I'd go with a CA or Ares g36, personally.

I prefer CA's personally, no real reason as to why. Just a preference.

Check this review out:

I like the KWA, but the Ares isn't bad. It's got a lot of nice features, including the blowback, which actually gives it a bit of kick.

Also, check out the Ares at Airsoft Outlet (I work there, just so you know ;) ) You'll get a battery with it, and much better customer service than you'll find at Evike.

IIRC the Ares has a the quick spring change feature.

The Ares does have a quick change spring gearbox. In addition, you can change the spring without any tools.

CA for externals SRC Gen 3 for internals. SRC is aluminum/steel almost everywhere inside except for the air-nozzle, tappet, trigger assembly, and polycarb piston.

SRC has been given a bad name for their hopup, but if you get just a Gen 3 gearbox and drop it into another body, you'll be set for a long time.

Overall, if you don't want to mess with the insides, get a KWA or Ares.

My friend had a CA g36e. It was ok, minor compression issues and a few other minor issues of which I can’t recall right now, personally I thought the CA didn’t feel and look as nice as the Ares or the TM. Trademarks were the best on the CA though.
SRC internals (including their new Gen 3) are subpar, I've had a few SRC gears strip under a m120 with a 7.4v Lipo. I can recall one instance in a SRC gen 2 416 where the piston head screw came off destorying the piston head and cylinder!

Sure the KWA might sound good on paper, but I’ve never liked the look of the huge handguard.
The new TM G36k is amazing! I got to hold and shoot one the other day, I was damn near about to trade my VFC 416 for it!

The new KWA has a standard handguard.

Yep, and who cares about ebb on an airsoft gun? The blowback is weak and that is just more moving parts that have the possibility to break.

Which is why there's no market for GBBR's...

No, I wasn't discrediting blowback, I was discrediting the weak electric blowback. Gas blowbacks are much more noticeable than electrics.
