AGM 416? General facts.

Postby Icepick » Wed Feb 23, 2011 7:44 pm

Well... How good is the AGM 416? What are some basic facts about the internals and externals? (Besides the fact that the body is metal.)

And for under $200, how would you rate it on a scale of 1-10? What things should I look out for that would bring down the rating?

Is it that difficult for you to not be a douche? ;)

Thought I could get some current insight from actual owners, etc. But nobody gets what they want, now do they?

Didn't you just post a thread regarding what M4 variant to buy?

I did... But that doesn't really pertain to this.

You could've asked this in that thread, considering in airsoft a 416 is basically an M4.

Are you sure you're 22?

And Icepick, there are already a bunch of threads around here on AGM guns. Your question made it sound like you didn't know anything about it.

If you were already planning on buying it, you should have asked something along the lines of "I'm planning on buying an AGM 416, any problems I should be aware of?" People around here hate repetition, and take to those kind of questions a lot easier.

To get down to your question, they are a pretty good bang for your buck. My M4 has been beat to hell and still chugs along. The only thing to look out for is AGM's sloppy wiring and shimming. Also be aware that AGM's guns often come shooting hot (~420fps).

Note to self: Never ask a question about a replica on this forum, even if I thought you guys would be more experienced than the kids my age writing reviews on the "AGM M614."

Thank you guys for the info that turned up, I'll look into it.

Yeah, I've heard their SCAR had crappy wiring and the gearbox looked like snot.
