If you really want to go, I'm sure you can find someone to loan you a gun. A lot of people on AP are more then willing to help a new player out.

Yeah, i noticed this forum is especially cool to people like myself who have no idea what they're doing.

That said though, i wouldn't borrow anything i couldn't afford to replace. If i had the cash to replace a borrowed gun i'd just go buy one now so i could play this weekend...

Oh well. Hopefully it won't be too much longer until i'm actually able to meet some of you guys.

For sure. If you really want to get some trigger time, S4 has an indoor arena and rental guns. It's a really cool place. You should check it out.

So, finally have an answer on this one...
AONW brought in a priest and performed a quick ceremony...the power of christ compelled them. Ugly situation with a crucifix at one point. i digress...

Turns out the contact the trigger makes to complete the circuit is a male-to-female plastic love prong which got a little off center.
The thin plastic male guide completed the circuit then broke and/or melted. Not sure which came first, break or melt, chicken or egg. *shrugs*

Anyway, my cheap gun works again. Props to you folks that diagnosed the problem despite my lack of knowledge on wtf i was looking at.
