Is the choice "No M4's, No P90's, No G36's" her parameters? It does seem kind of odd to limit guns that are known for being small & light. Is there any aesthetics or features she wants this to have (besides the adjustable stock & light weight)? Does she want something unique or something common?

Naturally I'd recommend the Masada. It is one sexy gun. ;)

Build her an HK51 with a telescoping stock, imo.

Just skip the metal body.

You could also buy her some dumbbells and a weapon sling. ; )

Don't do this... My freind and his bro received two of these for xmas of 08, both of their bodies cracked to the point that even duct tape coulden't fix it.

If you do decide for the AUG (And for goodness sake, its not exactly light) stay clear of the A3 that son of a phony pony is pretty front heavy because of the extremely long and heavy rail.

Me Rikey!

alternately, you could go for the MP5 SD, and put a longer barrel through the suppressor.

This.

The M4 is a perfect starter gun for anyone, and a plastic bodied model will be very lightweight. The G36, I could see the issue. Very light, but the stock is either all the way in, or all the way out. That being said, my 5'6" wife took about 5 seconds to figure out the G36k.

My confusion is that she eliminated the M4, but she's okay with the SCAR? They are, for all intents and purposes, the same gun. Once you boil away the cosmetics (is a monolithic rail really that unique?) its a M4 with a folding stock.

P90 I could understand. The ergonomics are kind of funky, and the mags are bulky. Not completely useless, but kind of odd.

AUG is a poor choice. The fixed shoulder length might not be the best thing for someone trying to figure out whats comfortable.

That being said, my wife was in the same predicament a little while ago, and I suggested, since she didn't like the M4 (she doesn't like the way you release the mag) that she get a CYMA AK-74, and she's fairly satisfied with it.

I'm curious, I am, what the logic was for excluding certain guns. The P90 is obvious. The M4 being excluded but the SCAR not be excluded makes no sense, unless she's just in it for the stock. In which case, go for a plastic body SCAR. If she doesn't like folding stocks (and some people don't) and she excludes the G36, but again keeps the SCAR, that makes no sense, and makes the M4 exclusion make even less sense.

MP5. Sure, I could see that. You'd have to go with an SD with a tightbore running through the suppressor, but the wire stocks are kind of uncomfortable for some. The folding stock is nice, but thats the same issue as the G36. The fixed stock is my favorite, but might not be the right length for her.

I've found weird things that don't make sense when it comes to ergonomics, though, so you never know. Have her try an AK-74, see what she thinks.

She is the one that doesn't like the M4, the looks, I don't understand it either. Ripping me a new one for passing on her stipulations is neither warranted nor helpful.

Thank you for those who brought up the AK, G3, and Sig. AONW is great, however it is an hour and a half drive for us sooo....

And but "not heavy" we were thinking 6-7 pounds max

Folding stock Dboys AK74. Light and built to take a beating. Randal used his as a sword in an AK fight against my Real Sword and it held up great.
