Ok that sounds WELL within my soldering level. Thank god for highschool robotics.. Any suggestions on a place to pick up some deans? And what about the lipo? Is it really worth it?

lipos-very worth it
deans- almost any hobby store or AONW

speaking of AONW they have pre made deans lipos for around $30

that can vary. You can get a lipo wall charger for around $15. or a very quick and easy smart charger for around 60-200. I know the new oregon airsoft place sells smart chargers for around $60. It charges a combination of things but i forget if its a combination of NiCad/NiMh/LiPo or if it's Deans/Tamiya/what ever else exists in the connector world.

the thing about lipos is that they can be more dangerous if you treat them bad. You want to use a balancer when your charging one (comes with most chargers) to spread the energy/electricity throughout the cells. Also you like most batteries but lipo's especially you don't want to overcharge them. Most chargers come with atleast a small light that turns green when it's done charging. Smart chargers will just stop charging it so it makes a easy "plug 'n forget" situation. I use a wall charger because it only takes an hour to charge and after a couple charges you can usually sense when it will finish and go and unplug it before anything bad happnens.

But if you get a wall charger make sure it's deans as well.

The website I linked you has very inexpensive LIPO batteries. I just made an order from them for 2 11.1 lipos, a charger, and a voltage alarm for $40 shipped.

You have to be smart enough to figure out the website to be able to properly employ a LiPo battery.

That's the power output level. I think it has to do with the trigger response. All i know is the higher the C's the better

Look for a "3s" lipo (means 11.1v) in the 1500mah range. You'll need to solder your own deans plugs on them because Deans sued Chinaman for using fake ones so they switched to their own version of deans.

If you don't want as high a ROF, than look for a "2s" lipo (means 7.4v).

Not my area of knowledge. Try searching the site for something like that.

Ah thanks jester. I think I'm going to go with a 1200mah 20c lipo. Solder on some deans and slap it on my m4

That charger will charge your Lipo. It's the same one AONW sells, just with a different sticker on it. You'll need a 12v input, but usually laptop cords (not apple) will work. If you don't have one of those, they have some power supplies on that site also.
