Hmmm, you've already gotten a lot of wiser opinions, and you seem to have declared a decision. I still had a little note (or large).. Psuedo mentioned that you could put a longer barrel in an M4.
Personally, I would much prefer to have an M4 with a longer barrel and suppressor over a similar length M16. I think it would have a higher sexiness factor. But that's just me.
So chasing down the M16 with extra monie$ seems a little silly to me, since you could save cash by just swapping to a longer barrel, instead of a whole new gun that is the same but longer. However, if your heart is set on having the big brother and the little brother, whatever floats your boat. I suppose that’s not too unreasonable, because I can understand wanting to cover both med/long range and short/med range with separate guns that have the same loadouts in concern to mags, pouches, familiarity, etc. The SR12 isn’t a bad idea, I would be tempted to really trick one out to completely cover the DMR niche spectrum, but there goes frugality.. I guess I think you’d be disappointed if you chased down an M16 but didn’t completely capitalize on the accuracy, having a similar AR-platform.
SR12 of niceness.. <Do it a favor and move that AFG forward and throw me a suppressor on.
Likewise, Archangel brought up the notion of what you want. Personally, I find these veeey niice. Nicest non-G&P M14 that I can think of. Yes, it's nice to transfer all your reloading/movement and body memory to a similar gun, but if it was me getting the new gun bug, I would want something truly new?.. No? Your choice. Of course, Beran so speaks the truth.. You don’t achieve accuracy by spending the most money. Most guns need work and time, not necessarily loads of aftermarket parts.
That was a lotta speak and I’m not sure if it was helpful. I hope so.
Final surprise idea, weighing in at 10 lbs..
