Echo1 M4's use a 2 piece hop up unit. They tend to have issues with sealing properly, and maintaining constancy.

I don't know about the G&G combat machines.

I have a plastic bodied Echo1 M4 sitting in parts right in front of me. The gearbox is good, but the body is shit. You run the risk of breaking off the tabs at the back any time you move the gun. The 2 piece hop up is finicky at best, and the body feels like crap.

For very little more than the G&G, you can get a metal body, and a 1 piece hop up. That right there is worth it.

To the OP: Look at the age of the majority of replys. They haven't been around long enough to know what they are talking about. They are going off what ASGI says, and what they've known for 3 months of ownership. Take it from people who have been playing longer, gone through more guns, and who work on them.

I'm going to save up for Pulsipher's M4... But lets keep this going to determine a few things.

So the Dboys M4 is the best externally and internally for under $200? Or does the Combat machine have the best internals for $200?

Jester, the G&G CM I have handled had a one-piece hop-up and seemed like it shot consistently (and felt like it had higher fps than advertised), but I cannot confirm that without a chronograph.

Also, Icepick, you should would go with Jester's suggestion, unless you can't hold up a metal-bodied M4A1 (I hope you can).

Pulsipher's M4 would be a nice choice as well!!

The metal bodies are necessary if you plan on fielding the gun. One of my first Echo 1 M16's had a plastic upper fail, letting the forward assembly just fold right off, damaging hop up and ruining the inner barrel. It looked funny, until I realized I was now out a $155 gun. Go with the full metal A&K.

Jester makes an excellent point. Experience talks...

I have owned a DBoys metal body M4, four Classic Armies, two KWA's. Metal is always better. It is how real M4's are, it is more durable, and what Jester said about freezing yourself to the body? Well...you haven't lived until!

How good is a CA sportline M4 as opposed to a Combat machine?

G&G plastic =/= JG plastic. G&G's also have one piece hopups, NO TABS, and are higher quality than dboys. I wouldn't trust low end pot metal over high end plastic.

I took your advice, don't worry! ;)

Just trying to get a grasp on things because I may be trading for either one. (CA sporty or Combat Machine.)

Don't trade, buy a Dboys Metal Body M4 for 150. I have one, Jester has had a few. They are way worth it. The G&G is a limpy piece of plastic. Get a metal body, you will not regret it.

*reads thread*

*sees a bunch of 14-14 year olds talking about how awesome plastic guns are*

*sees people who know what they're talking about giving a better-priced, better quality option*

*sees 14 year olds ignoring them*

*ragequits*

Buy a goddamn Dboys.
