grease and silicone

Postby gabinator92 » Sat Jun 02, 2007 2:10 pm

I was wondering if any other grease than grease specially made for AEGs would work. Please tell if you have ever used any other lubricants on your guns. Also does the silicone oil have to be the one meant for AEGs also?

they also have lithium grease in large tubes @ ace hardware fer $2.25

if you talking about cleaning the barrel, any silicone spray will work so long as its just silicone, and not a bunch of petrolium junk like wd40

you can usualy find silicone spray or silicone/with teflon @ automotive stores

white lithium grease is great but I like to use Phil waterproof grease that you can get from any bike shop. that shit is great and it only contaminates if you get dirt into it. I dunno if anyone else has ever used it but I love the stuff (on my bike AND my gearbox.) I wouldnt use it anywhere else though.

I know what you are talking about. It's lithium grease, and will work ok. It's a little thick, so don't over lube or you will end up with a big lub-ie mess. Nothing bad will happen, just a splattery mess.

Is lithium grease good for both gears and piston?

Get both the grease (for the innards) and the silicon oil for the outards (and the inner barrel). Both are essential.

BTW- Chris I laughed out loud at your sig. Very funny. (got the pistol also, thanks)
