Anti-Reversal latch

Postby Mattman154 » Sat Feb 06, 2010 4:01 am

So I's got me a question. I'm trying to reset my gearbox, and to do that I have to do something with the anti-reversal latch. And since I suck at AEG's at this point, how exactly would I go about "resetting" it? I've taken off the pistol grip of my SR10 and can see what I think is the latch. Any help?

I know on some latches they have a slit where you can insert a screwdriver and reset it that way without having to crack open the gearbox.

Usualy if this is not possable you can put a small hook into a paperclip and go through the Pinion hole for the motor and slide up and pull the latch. you would want to do that before opening the gearbox anyway or you could have a spring tension game of 52 parts pick up when you split the box.

Heh, you'd have fifty two parts pickup regardless if you're not careful about the spring, it's highly tensioned by default.

Rogue Reaper's suggestion is good though, see if you can get a very small, yet strong hook in there to pop the anti reversal latch to relax everything to the best degree possible before opening.

If it's not possible though, just be careful when opening the gearbox. I suggest sticking a smaller phillips screwdriver in the back of the spring guide when you pry it open and keeping a good hold on it. That'll make sure that you don't have to dig the spring guide out from behind a shelf or something.

When you say pop the latch what exactly does that mean? I got the pistol grip off and I can see the gears and the latch, but how do I pop it? Pull it down toward me? What sound/ movement am I looking for

Yea just put the bent clip in the box and slightly pull it will kinda pop as the piston goes forward do this till its all relaxed . the latch is up the motor hole . If ya can call it that . But the latch is to the left there . 8)
