DPMS A17 *Grind* New gun suggestions?

Postby jmabrao » Sat Feb 13, 2010 8:53 pm

Was shooting my aeg today and low and behold I get a grinding noise I apparently stippped something out, took it apart and nothing looks stripped strange. I am not gonna even bother putting it back together I just need to save for a better gun. Which brings me to the question, I was looking at either the:
2010 JG M16/SR-16 RIS
http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/435_FPS ... -f6619.htm

or the

2010 AGM M16A4
http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/NEW_201 ... gm-034.htm

Anyone have any experience in any of these models?

Thanks for your time
Joel

save your money for a better gun.
Jg and agm are ok but no where near the quality or performance of a high end gun.

Would this be a better gun than? I would like to get a gun with as much accuracy as possible, ROF is irrelavent to me. I thought the AGM would be a better gun since its a metal upper and lower receiver.

Wise choice on getting a new gun instead of trying to "fix" your current.

you should get some extra gears and put an M120 in that until it explodes..... Then burn it.

Get a JG M4A1 if you like to spend less & have a playable gun.
It costs around $119ish at evike or ASGI, the most popular & the most mass production clone by JG, so the quality is above average.
Shop fr ASGI or evike..that airsoftmegastore uses alot stock photos for their products & carry alot low quality parts.

If you want an accurate gun, generally you'll want a longer outer barrel (M16 SR-25, G3 etc)because it'll allow you to run a longer inner barrel. Also have a good hop-up+bucking+nub will increase your accuracy.

AND a plastic spur gear.

If you want the best gun possible, save up and get a higher end gun. If you want a gun that's playable on a budget, get a JG, AGM, or an Echo 1.

I own an AGM M16 that I've been running with for about a year. I've used it as a high ROF platform for indoors, and a high FPS rifle for woodland. It has taken anything I've thrown at it so far.

I've had an AGM M4 for about a year now, and its one solid gun. The internals were actually very nice (metal spring guide, piston head, bushings, VERY nice motor)... The only bad thing about it was the wiring was crap- $20 later (for a new wiring harness) and it was a great rifle... The only other downside is it’s pot metal, but since I’m gentle with my guns it’s not a problem for me…

Thanks for all the replies guys I may burn it and post the vid for you guys lol! So I think I may go with the KWA SR12 It has the new 2GX Gearbox and hop up so I'm thinking it will last a long time as I don't intend to run lipo. Only thing I'm worried about is it shooting to hot and not being able to participate.
