Want to add range and accuracy to my g&g m14..,

Postby Sho Nuff » Thu Mar 11, 2010 1:24 pm

I have a g&g m14 I like to use as a sniper. Any advice on what I can do to add range and accuracy?

Add a precision barrel, and get a different hop up bucking and nub. Then you should be good on accuracy

What Liquid said. I have a G&G M14 and I did all of that and it can reach out and touch someone. I highly suggest a tight bore barrel from Airsoft Ammo Supply (Riddick) its a 6.02mm@ 540mm and its amazing. Also I'd suggest getting the G&G Cylinder Head and Piston Unit Set on ASGI. Helps in better compression.

hopup bucking are gonna be cheap $10-15 for the pair, the barrel will run from $30-70 depending on what you go with.

Barrel was $65 from Riddick. Piston set and Cylinder head is $45 at ASGI. A 60 degree Mad Bull Bucking 2 pack is $14 from AONW and it comes with H-nubs.

If you don't have that much cash on hand, I recommend for purchase the Classic Army 6.04 Stainless Steel barrel. You sacrifice .02mm (doesn't seem like a lot, but it can help) but also the price drops by half.

My madbull buckings didn't come with h-nubs, just hard silicone tubing, unlike the soft type in some guns. :?

+12 for the PSI (Precision Shot Industries [Bill/Rick's barrel company]) barrel. I have one in my VSR-10 and absolutely love it.Each barrel is handmade to your specific needs. They are great. I just wish I had more money to buy a couple more.

I wouldn't use a MadBull bucking. Firefly's are the best, then Prometheus. There is general guide to upgrades on airsoftforum.com. You should be able to get 200 feet fairly easy, the key is just to get good quality parts and make sure everything is seated correctly. A decent bucking can work wonders and a high quality inner barrel will compliment it well.

Don't forget good BB's either. I've found that no matter what type of insides you have in your gun, the range is still going to be minimal if you don't have the correct weight in BB's. For 280-330 I use .20's. for 340-380ish I use .25's. For 390-420 I use .28's or .3's. Etc. With the current setup I have now (400fps, Madbull blue bucking, Madbull 585mm TBB, custom nub) I get 60 yards off of .25's and 70ish yards off of .28's.
For every action (Bang) there is an equal and opposite reaction (HIT!)

ive installed madbull buckings, h-nubs and a tightbore in nearly every one of my guns (more than 20). one of my M16s will reach out to 250+ feet reliably with those parts. ive got another M16 with similar bits, but i havent had a chance to test it at range yet.
