TM Sig 552 Help

Postby Morpheus » Mon Mar 22, 2010 10:22 pm

I got a fairly good deal on a used Tokyo Marui Sig-552. Under $100 with a bunch of adds.

Of course it is used, so needs a little work. Overall it is fairly good, but the handle/grip has a crack and is a bit loose.

I'm new to Airsoft, and seem to be not finding any replacement parts for the handle.

Any suggestions?
M

PS: While I'm at it, any suggestions on upgrades to it?

If it shoots fine, leave it be. Maybe a barrel and hop up bucking+nub, but other than that, TM will keep on chugging, man.

IIRC the TM Sig uses the V3 gearbox...

That's the closest I can find.

that might work, but you'd need an AK motor cage, a short AK style motor, and that grip will take some dremel/jbweld work to fit to the receiver correctly. You could find yourself a JG parts gun from kapowwe for $50 http://www.kapowwe.com/mm5/merchant.mvc ... gory_Code=

give airsoftoutletNW a call, they might have a grip for you.

The TM SIG does not use a motor cage on the motor, even though it is a V3 mechbox, if I recall correctly.

<newb>
So, what exactly does this mean to someone trying to fix a cracked handle?

Are you referring to the pistol grip being cracked?

Yes, a crack is in the pistol grip. Wanted to replace it prior to it breaking all the way.

I was thinking that purchasing the JG knock-off might be an easy way to get a bunch of parts to keep it going for a while.

Getting a parts gun would be a good way.

Hey Troy, you have a Sig hopup unit? Mine won't engage the BB release in the mags.

Did you install the plate under the HU upside down?
