AK gear boxes problem

Postby Sixxgun » Fri Sep 03, 2010 3:07 pm

I was firing my buddies CA ak and it stopped feeding bb's and motor sounded like it was turning but not turning the gears. I pulled gear box out of gun and with further inspection I noticed two out of three gears (noticed bushings ) were turning but the third one by trigger was not moving. Can you guys tell me what might be wrong?

I think a gear might be stripped. Probably the Spur gear if I'm understanding the problem correctly.
For every action (Bang) there is an equal and opposite reaction (HIT!)

nope all gears are fine it has to do with sector gear think the teeth on piston are stripped i just pulled it apart now dunno how anti reverse latch spring goes

Anti reversal latch spring goes so that the hook end cradles the latch, and the other end pushes on the gearbox, thus forcing the anti reversal latch into its place on the bevel gear.

And the symptoms of a stripped piston match what you described, the sound of the motor and gears turning but no firing.

If your air nozzle is not cycling it is your sector gear, if it is than it is your piston. However nine times out of ten when your sector gear strips the striped gear teeth will jam up the other gears. So it is hard to say what it is until you tear it open.
