Postby rntaylor87 » Mon Sep 20, 2010 6:30 pm

IM DEBATING ON WHAT STYLE OF RED DOT TO PUT ON MY M4. NOT SURE WHAT WOULD BE BEST ON MY RIFLE AS FAR AS LOOKS OR FUNCTIONALITY. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK WOULD BE GOOD ON THIS GUN?

I FEEL AS IF TALKING IN ALL CAPS CAN LEAD TO SOME UNWANTED DISPUTES DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS IS TAKEN AS YELLING BY SOME PEOPLE. MAYBE WE shouldnt use all caps

i like this one, because you can put the dot on someone, but it doesn't obstruct your view of the field or area around you like scope.

First off, please do not use all caps, it is annoying.

Second, welcome to AP, hope you have a great time here.

Third, depends on what you want and your price range. The most popular are ACOG knock offs and Holo sight knock offs. You will probably want to spend at least $40, other wise they just get cheap and not very good. Have a look around some airsoft websites, I personally trust airsoftgi.com, airsoftoutletnw.com (they are local and have fast shipping) and airsoftatlanta.com.

Hope that helps.

I kind of like the panorama style red dots. I don't think I would like a tube style. Seems like with a panorama my vision would be best as far as looking through the sight and still seeing well around it. But again your ideas would help.

Basically ya. Do you think an eotech style would block my vision much?

umm I don't think so, but I beleive they're more expensive. So it depends on your budget. If you gotta lot, go with the Eotech. If you want a cheap (but durable) solution, go with the panaroma. I like my panaroma alot, but its up to you.

I have an NcStar and theres no problems with it. I think (emphasize the "think") that it has a lifetime warranty, so if it gets shot out, they'll replace it.

I wouldn't really worry about field of vision. I have a red dot on my M4, and it doesn't block much view largely because I have learned to shoot with both eyes open, which isn't that hard to learn and is really nice. At any rate, I think an Eotech would lend the best field of vision.
