A couple of weeks ago, Echo 1 had some info about their new RPK on their Facebook. In it, they mention a 450+ FPS spring. Seeing as that just seemed ridiculous, I decided to say something, just to see what they would say in return.
Me: "Downgrade the spring. FPS =/= "soopur l33t sn1p0rz k33l00r". Get that out of your head. I have used a rifle firing at a steady 325 FPS for all of my games, and it performs great. Plus, you will achieve less stress on the gearbox and better ROF."
Brian Holt (The head tech for Echo 1 USA): "@ John D W: we are not in the 'tm' world and the gearbox can take a beating. I have used rifles and support guns firing at kids with fps from 250-600+ and the factor is accuracy and delay of impact for the great gun."
Really? Is that what these "Professionals" truly believe? If so, maybe that is the reason for all of these newbs coming in and believing that FPS makes them God.
I don't know if anyone else agrees, but that just ticked me off that someone in a professional position would believe that.
