CM m4 question

Postby phantom -VSR- » Mon Dec 13, 2010 7:06 pm

I currently have a combat machine m4 and want a higher rof. I was either thinking about getting a Systema or matrix turbo -or- just get a li poly 11.1v whatever mah battery. Right now i'm running a 9.6v 2000mah battery. I don't want to upgrade the internals and was wandering what the best option would be in my situation. Thanks.

The ROF on the combat machine is already pretty solid, why are you looking to upgrade?

A 9.6v should be getting a decent ROF out of the box. But if you want a higher ROF and want to invest in a Lipo then I would go for a 7.4 lipo with 20c. The 20c is how fast the lipo puts out energy so if you use a lipo that is 20c it should get you a pretty fast ROF. The 15c (less output than a 20c) that I use now drastically increases the ROF in the average AEG and would probably destroy a cheap gear box in not to terribly long.

Also if you do go the lipo rout you need to take proper care of it, witch includes:

1. Getting a new charger (that balances)
2. Getting a surplus ammo box to store/charge it in
3. Getting a lipo alarm (a little chip that plugs into the lipo and will alert you when you need to stop using it)

Lipo's are actually a really safe battery. I have yet to see one explode that was not caused by a stupid human. If used properly they are much better than the NiMh and NiCad.

If you didn't understand a few things in my post that means you need to read up on how a lipo functions, because when they aren't treated properly they will go ballistic, which can burn down your house.

Can the stock internals handle the li poly? I saw the airsoft gi test on the G4, does anyone know if it broke or just ran out of battery/daylight?

one of my buddies has a cm m4 and he uses a 11.1 1300mah 20c lipo and it ran awesome for over 10k rounds through it, unfortunately like any other stock gun, it can only take so much, during one game he absolutely shredded his gears. they pretty much looked like complete circles without any teeth. granted his gearbox was 100% stock. he now runs high torque gears and it shoots amazing.

i guess this could be avoided if you dont like to mag dump all the time. and for the G4 i have 2 g4 guns and both of them run 11.1 2300 20c lipos and in one off them i have probably shot over 20k rounds and it still shoots like a champion like the first day i got it. alot of my friends run G4 aegs and all of them have 11.1 2300 20c or higher rated lipos perfectly without any problems. both my friends and i who have the G4, all of our aegs are 100% stock except for the lipos
