Noob Alert. DMR needed

Postby God » Sun Jan 09, 2011 3:28 pm

I'm looking for a Gun with decent accuracy. My buddy wants me to be the Designated Marksman. But I don't want to be screwed with a true sniper rifle.
I like the option off full auto if some one gets to close when no one gives me some damn cover. I'm not buying until late spring if not summer so I want to do some research before I drop a ton of money on it. Any useful help would be appreciated.

SIG 550. I personally recommend the CYMA one despite what the people on here may say, it has served well for the past two years.

How do you feel about the m14? I personally find them a bit boring... But a series of AR rifles exist that have great accuracy and are rigged to upgrade springs, due to their stock reinforced gearboxes and powerful motors. Classic Army is a great brand to look at for this.. Perhaps G&G w/ the M14.. Save the $!! It's so worth it to get something higher quality.

Get an M16 and a TBB. Unless you want something unique.

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=2650 + a few mags, and maybe a tightbore down the road.

Get a DBOY SCAR L. Not bad, and DBoy has really stepped it up recently. A good gun now will save you money later, so work hard on getting that budget up to about $250. You could get a CYMA SIG like Meitzger suggested, or any other AR style/common gun. MP5's aren't exactly DMR quality, but make a great starter.

Good starter that you could get magazines and gear for under $200

I just used my G&G M14 in a skirmish for the first time today and I love it!

If you are going for a DMR a M14 is a good way to go, and you don't have worry about external upgrades, because M14s are already awesome.

The G&G M14 is really nice off the bat (6.04 tbb already installed), has a huge battery compartment, and has awesome ROF along with decent fps. The only downside is slightly expensive and large magazines, but it is worth it.

I would just save your money get $250-300 and get a good gun. You get what you pay for and most higher quality brands have pre-upgraded internals. That G&G M14 would be great. I got the shorter version but the accuracy is amazing for stock and the thing is quieter than your girlfriend when your parents are over.
Also, if your in a jam and semi auto won't do, with an 8.4 battery the gun spews a line of death.

Dboys SPR?

He has a M4, so, in theory, interchangeable mags with each other would be a plus.

Pity.

I'd prefer to avoid JG and "clones"... He said to avoid them. I'll ask him about the G&G M14... But that's pretty high...

You could go with an AGM M16, and then pick up a scope for it. I know AGM isn't a prestigious airsoft company, but it has amazing accuracy for a completely stock rifle.
