G&G AK47

Postby mcintyr2 » Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:54 pm

hey guys, I have a G&G AK/RK 47, and was wondering how you take the fore-grip off. I've looked at some videos on youtube, but no one has info in how to take the G&G AK47 fore-grip off. I'm having trouble taking off the fake gas piston / assembly, which blocks the fore-grips from coming off. There are no screws on it but two very small pins that wont come out. Does anyone know how to take it off?

It should be a TM clone i believe, If you remove the cleaning rod, there should be screws on both the Front sight, the gas tube too. Remove the front sight first, then the gas tube. Or find a video on a complete takedown on the TM AK 47.

Naw, that's not it. I've got an G&G AK.

There is a piece right below and to the side of the rear sight. You'll need to rotate that a bit until you can pop the top of the hand guard off.

To take off the bottom as I recall there will be a little lever inside the bottom handgrip which you will be able to see when you take off the top. Same as before rotate it 'til it lines up and you can take off the bottom.

If you are still having trouble by the time I get home I'll take a look at mine and try to help you out.

That piece needs to line up right for the grip to come off.
So rotate it a little bit then try the grip. Repeat. If I recall correctly it needs to be 180° from it's locking position.

I put a flash light in the hole in the hand guard, and there appears to be a tube in the way that is maybe connected to the fake gas piston. the tube is about 1.5 cm thick and is inside the entire top guard, and the 7 cm tube above the barrel. I'm not sure how to remove it

I'm not sure what piece you are talking about. I'll take a look at mine when I get home and let you know.

I looked inside again, and there appeared to be two screws holding the tube on which prevents the top part from coming off. do you know how to remove them, and/or the tube[/img]
