Need some help

Postby Blake » Sun Jan 23, 2011 8:32 am

So I got a jg g36, it works great and I like it a lot, my only issue is that I can't find mid cap mags for this gun. I heard something about the m4 mags fitting in my model, but I'm not exactly sure what will fit. I don't want to buy something that doesn't fit then have to return it (if the online company will even let me). I'd really appreciate it if you guys could find some mid cap mags online. My google searching skills aren't bringing me any luck.

That's the model I got.

Thanks for the replies.

I know someone who runs with a JG G36, he bought the mags previously posted and has had 1 out of the 5 fail on a regular basis because of the spring, but they seem like good magazines.

And for the price... very nifty.

If you would like barely more capacity than those mid caps... you might try the 2x MAG set from ASGI.
I can't speak for anyone else but MAG has always put out a good magazine.

assuming that the JG is compatible to CA, echo 1 etc, one of the mag well conversions is a simple way to use M-4 style magazines. They are super simple to install and the m-4 family of mags are much more available.

Go for the M4 magazine conversion if you don't mind the look; I use it because M4 magazines are 1/2 the size of G36 magazines (and don't have the annoying tabs that get stuck on pouches).

Otherwise MAG, STAR, ARES and G&P all make nice midcaps for G36s. Avoid King Arms because they are made of cheapy plastic and feed iffily (I've tried them in my Echo1(JG) and CA G36s and they misfeed a lot on full auto).

STAR:

ARES:

Not much point in a forum if it doesn't generate discussion. Besides he walked away with more knowledge then simply looking through sites and got a few suggestions as well. I'd say it was well worth the time to post this question.

Definitely man, my biggest concern was getting clips that would fit. I already bought some and they wouldn't fit my model simply because there wasn't enough information on the one I bought. I looked at other sites, but didn't find any luck. I even searched posts here prior to posting. I am very happy for your guy's responses. I now have a much greater knowledge of where to find things.

:banghead:

Technical point--they're not "clips," they're "magazines." If you don't know the difference, google it.

Haha, does it matter what I call them? regardless, there is technically no clips for airsoft (as far as I know). Sure, clip is commonly misused, which replaces the correct term for mags. A clip is the classic form of ammo holders, magazines are the revolutionary devices.

Then it does matter if you use the correct term. It IS there for a reason.

There are clips in airsoft. The Marushin M1 Garand uses clips like the real thing (which eject for super sex time+8). There's also the ARES AW338 which stores the BBs in a removable clip inside the magazine housing. Speed loaders could technically be considered clips as well since they hold the ammo together and make loading a magazine easier.

Using the correct term is important so A. you don't anger the Ogre (which isn't safe) and B. so everyone knows exactly what your talking about.
